Learning Beyond Boundaries
Welcome to our Pre-Prep
Highgate Pre-Prep is from Early Years to Year 2 (aged 2 to 7)
OUR LEARNING APPROACH
In the Pre-Prep School, we take a creative and reflective approach to education, focusing on how your child will learn, not just what they will learn. Through immersion in project-based learning, we will empower students to develop resilience, creativity, and a strong sense of responsibility, qualities that will serve them well as both learners and active members of the Highgate Thailand community and the wider society. We are committed to nurturing well-rounded individuals who are prepared for success beyond the classroom.
Our Priorities
- To ensure academic excellence is balanced with the joy, curiosity, and wonder that define childhood.
- To nurture students’ confidence and independence by encouraging student-led inquiry and exploration-based learning.
- To foster a sense of reflection and engagement, helping students connect meaningfully with their learning environment and the world around them.
Early Years Curriculum
At Highgate Thailand, we will offer Pre-Nursery, Nursery and Reception classes, each led by a dedicated class teacher and a qualified teaching assistant. This ensures that every child receives the personalised care and attention they need to thrive. Our curriculum will reference the Early Years and Foundation Stage framework (EYFS), which is specifically designed to support your child’s growth and development in seven areas of learning:
Prime Areas:
- Communication and language
- Physical development
- Personal, social, and emotional development
Specific Areas:

We will help your child build essential skills that promote communication, social interaction, emotional well-being, and physical growth, all in a nurturing environment where they feel confident, secure, and excited to explore.

Our Pre-Prep Teachers
Our Pre-Prep teaching staff will be meticulously selected to provide an exceptional foundation for our youngest learners. Each class will be led by a UK qualified teacher, carefully chosen for their expertise, passion, and ability to nurture and inspire young minds.
With intentionally small class sizes, teachers will have the opportunity to provide personalised attention, fostering each child’s confidence, curiosity, and love of learning. Every class will also benefit from an assistant teacher fluent in both Thai and English, ensuring seamless support for students learning English as an additional language.
This thoughtful approach will create a nurturing, inclusive environment where every child is understood, valued, and encouraged to thrive, establishing a strong foundation for their future academic and personal success.
Beyond the Classroom
Activities beyond the classroom are essential for fostering a holistic educational experience for young children, particularly those learning English as an Additional Language (EAL). These activities include extracurricular programs that promote creativity, teamwork, and social interaction, allowing children to develop language skills and build confidence in a supportive environment. Pastoral care initiatives play a crucial role in ensuring that children feel safe, valued, and emotionally supported, which is vital for their overall well-being. Especially important to us is fostering a strong partnership with parents to enhance these activities, as parental involvement not only enriches the learning experience but also strengthens the community.
Together, these elements create a comprehensive support system that nurtures children’s social, emotional, and cognitive growth, preparing them for future success both in and out of the classroom.
